Front Garden Fiesta 2009

There were a great many lovely gardens to see this year and it was difficult to decide which “the best” were. Imaginative use of old tyres, painted and recycled as flower pots, wild gardens full of colour, vibrant hanging baskets, sculptural and climbing plants all contribute to making a walk around Newtown area a pleasure; however, winners must be picked and so here are the best six.

36 West Street for an enchanting display of whites, blues and lilacs
119 Newtown for a pink and white extravaganza
20 Henderson Close with a fulsome front garden
83 Gloucester Road for neatness and prettiness
56 Gloucester Road with wonderful pots and vine covered
59 Wingfield Road with purple hanging baskets

Many previous winners also had wonderful gardens again and for making the most of very small spaces, see 8 Gloucester Road who is a worthy runner up.
Congratulations to everyone.
Prizes will be given at the AGM, 23rd September.
